Three regions, different priorities

In the north, Hanoi connects with Ninh Binh, Ha Long or Sa Pa, though mountain travel needs extra time. Da Nang, Hoi An and Hue combine coast and heritage in the centre; Da Lat and Nha Trang need a separate transport plan. The south pairs Ho Chi Minh City with either the delta or Phu Quoc, depending on your priorities.

Count travel days honestly

For about five days, start with one base and nearby outings. A week can support two or three stops in one region; fourteen days can connect two or three regions. These are planning suggestions, not targets. Flights include packing, airport travel and arrival transfers, and night buses do not remove fatigue.

Pick two real priorities

Ask each traveller for two priorities, then choose a base that supports the group. With children, older relatives or mobility needs, reduce hotel changes and verify lifts and walking distances. Keep alternatives for weather-sensitive activities and consider returning to the departure city for the final night.
