What to see

An early beach walk, a midday museum visit and an evening by the river make a balanced day. Marble Mountains involve steps and caves, while Son Tra access depends on current road and conservation rules. If Ba Na Hills is a priority, give it a full day instead of combining it with a rushed Hoi An visit.

What to eat

Look for mì Quảng and pork rice-paper rolls. Before ordering seafood, confirm the unit price, weighing method and any preparation charge, including whether the quoted amount is per portion or per kilogram.

Where to stay

My Khe suits a beach-led visit; the central west bank of the Han River is practical for city dining and errands. Resorts farther south can mean longer restaurant trips. Check shuttles, breakfast and transport needs as well as the pool photographs.

Getting there & around

Da Nang Airport (DAD) is a practical central-region gateway. Hoi An works with a point-to-point transfer; Hue needs a longer intercity window. A scenic Hai Van Pass transfer and a direct tunnel route are different journeys, so specify which you want.

Time & season

Allow three to four days, or five to six with Hoi An. Beach plans depend on rain and sea conditions. Follow beach flags and local advice even when the sky is clear.

Planning pitfalls

Avoid treating Ba Na Hills, Hoi An and Hue as quick stops just because they are all in central Vietnam. Choose a base and two real priorities, then keep recovery time, especially when travelling with children or older relatives.
